Escambia, FL - Escambia County Fire Rescue responded to a residential structure fire on North Highway 29, where crews arrived to find no visible smoke or flames from the exterior.

Further investigation revealed heavy smoke inside the laundry room. Firefighters quickly deployed water and extinguished the fire, confining the damage to the laundry room.

The cause-and-origin investigation determined that the fire was caused by an electrical malfunction inside a clothes dryer. Escambia County EMS also assisted at the scene, and no injuries or fatalities were reported.
