Shelton, CT - The Shelton Fire Department responded to a waterflow alarm at a commercial manufacturing facility on River Road, where initial size-up revealed light smoke conditions within the building.

During investigation, crews located a fire in an industrial pillow dryer in the basement. A working fire assignment was transmitted, bringing additional companies to the scene. The facility’s automatic deluge sprinkler system effectively controlled the fire prior to firefighters’ arrival, preventing extension into occupied areas.

Firefighters deployed hose lines to extinguish remaining hot spots and conducted extensive overhaul operations, removing burned materials and checking for extension into the conveyor system and exhaust components.
