Ellijay, GA - The Gilmer County Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire on Highway 382 West after a passerby reported heavy smoke in the area.

While en route, crews observed a large column of smoke from a distance, confirming the presence of a working fire. Upon arrival, firefighters determined that no occupants were on scene and immediately initiated suppression operations.

Using a deck gun, crews quickly brought the fire under control, preventing further extension and allowing for safe and effective extinguishment. Firefighters remained on scene to complete overhaul and ensure the incident was fully mitigated.
