On July 2, following a second alarm and several special calls, the Mifflintown Hose Company No. 1's Tower 2 and a crew of six responded to a multi-unit structure fire in Lewistown.

An expanded reaction was prompted by the first arriving chief's report of a severe fire encompassing several levels of the structure and trapped residents. Before being allowed to leave the scene, Tower 2 staff spent many hours helping with fire control and other activities.
