On July 5, Sadsburyville Fire Company No. 1 and Keystone Valley Fire Department Engine 08 responded to a brush fire near the Amtrak rail line in the Helen Street unit block.

When the crews arrived, they saw live electrical lines arcing close to a sizable burning brush and woodland area. Before working along the rails, firefighters alerted Amtrak and used roughly 2,500 gallons of water to put out the fire. Several large trees obstructing the road caused Engine 31 to be delayed throughout the response, while Traffic 31 used chainsaws to remove the obstacles and restore access.

At around 9:46 p.m., the fire was contained and all units left the area.
