Brooksville, FL - The Hernando County Fire Rescue responded to a hazardous materials incident in the 14000 block of Buczak Road in Brooksville involving a propane leak.
Upon arrival, crews determined the leak occurred after a lawn mower struck an underground propane tank cover, damaging a supply line connected to a generator. HazMat Technicians and firefighters quickly assessed the situation, identified the compromised line, and secured the tank by shutting off the valve, effectively stopping the leak.
The incident was brought under control without injuries, demonstrating a rapid and coordinated response to a potentially dangerous situation.
