Brooksville, FL - The Hernando County Fire Rescue responded to a residential structure fire in the 1400 block of Amy Circle in Spring Hill.

Upon arrival, crews encountered light smoke showing from the front of the home and quickly stretched a handline to investigate. Firefighters located a fire in the kitchen and rapidly knocked it down, preventing further extension throughout the residence.

During operations, three cats were safely rescued from the home. Although no injuries to occupants or animals were reported, three adults were displaced as a result of the incident. The fire was determined to have been caused by an electrical issue within the kitchen area.
