This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Pinellas Park, FL- Over the past few months, Pinellas Park Fire has been actively hiring, and we are pleased to welcome not one, not two, but eight new hires to the Pinellas Park Fire Department.

Craig Brown, Ryan Pavao, and Kelly Skaggs joined the Pinellas Park Fire Department in April and are now several months into their probationary year as firefighter/paramedics. Craig Brown is assigned to C-Shift, Ryan Pavao to B-Shift, and Kelly Skaggs is on A-Shift.

In June, Pinellas Park Fire Department welcomed Zach Wyatt, William Bateman, Jake Dawson, and Tristan Holland. Zach Wyatt was hired as a firefighter/EMT and has since earned his state paramedic certification. Will Bateman, Jake Dawson and Tristan Holland are certified paramedics hired as part of our fire cadet program. All three graduated from the fire academy at St. Petersburg College on June 3 and received their firefighter certifications the following week. Wyatt and Bateman are assigned to C-Shift, Dawson to A-Shift, and Holland is on B-Shift.

Firefighter/EMT Michael Sadok was hired July 13 and will be starting on A-Shift following completion of orientation and department training. He is currently enrolled in the Emergency Services Program at SPC for his paramedic certification and also works part-time at Sunstar Paramedics in Pinellas County.

All eight of our new firefighters will spend their probationary year rotating through each of our fire stations while continuing their training under the leadership of our PPFD training officers.
