Trailer homes destroyed in noontime blaze in Moonachie

Several trailer homes were destroyed and several others damaged by a noontime fire right behind Teterboro Airport. On July 26th at 11:35am, the Moonachie Fire Department was dispatched to a reported fire in a mobile home in the Metropolitan Reserve Mobile Home Park at 22 Adult Drive Upon arrival, firefighters were met with two mobile homes well involved. As chiefs arrived heavy fire was consuming one trailer home and spreading to others. A working fire assignment & 2nd alarm were quickly requested bringing additional companies to the scene. One trailer was down to the ground quickly as heavy fire damaged others.
The 3rd alarm companies were requested to the scene due to the high temperatures for overhaul operations. All occupants were accounted for. The cause of fire is under investigation. No serious injuries were reported. Mutual aid at the scene or in coverage Carlstadt, Hasbrouck Heights, Little Ferry, Lyndhurst, Maywood, Ridgefield Park, Rutherford, South Hackensack and Wood-Ridge. The County Wide Emergency Response Team provided canteen services along with the Moonachie Rescue squad.
