STATEN ISLAND, NY - On July 24th at 7:30 P.M., FDNY units responded to a deep-seated brush fire in the woods near Richmond Ave. and Forest Hill Road. Crews used Indian pumps, brooms and saws to finally extinguish the fire, which was placed under control after two hours. Members had to deal with extreme temperatures and walking a half mile into the woods.
