Brush Fire Burns 28 Acres Before Containment Efforts Halt Spread
Reidsville, GA - The Reidsville Fire Department responded alongside the Tattnall County Fire Department to a reported brush fire on Leonard Iddins Road.
Upon arrival, command directed brush units to access the fire area while additional apparatus were positioned to protect nearby residences. As the incident expanded, the Georgia Forestry Commission was requested to assist with establishing fire breaks to contain the spread.
The fire ultimately burned approximately 28 acres and was believed to have been caused by a lightning strike from the previous day. Once fire breaks were completed and the situation was stabilized, fire department units were released from the scene.
