Garden City, GA - The Garden City Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire in the Russell Avenue and Highway 21 area. After initially finding no fire at the dispatched location, crews searched nearby and located an apartment building on Devane Street with heavy smoke showing from the roof.

Engine 201 confirmed a working fire and initiated an interior attack, encountering fire in the attic space. Engine 202 established a water supply and conducted searches, while Truck 202 performed ventilation to improve interior conditions.

The fire was contained to two apartments, preventing further extension. The American Red Cross assisted displaced residents, and no injuries were reported.
