Serious Multi-Vehicle Crash Prompts Air Medical Response

Brooksville, FL - The Hernando County Fire Rescue responded to a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Cortez Boulevard and Treiman Boulevard involving three heavily damaged vehicles.


Upon arrival, crews quickly initiated patient assessments and triage operations. Due to the severity of injuries, four patients met trauma alert criteria, prompting the request for air medical transport. One additional patient was transported by ground ambulance for further care.


Mutual aid was provided by Pasco County Fire Rescue, which assisted with additional personnel and apparatus. Firefighters also secured the scene and shut down westbound lanes of Cortez Boulevard to establish a safe landing zone for incoming helicopters. The coordinated multi-agency response ensured rapid patient care and safe transport under critical conditions.
