Great Neck, N.Y. — 13th July — The Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department received mutual help from the Department Great Neck Vigilant Fire Company, located at 83 Cuttermill Road in Great Neck, New York, in response to a Signal 10 working home fire. Fire suppression, emergency medical assistance, and incident command operations were supported by Engine 8316, Ambulance 831, and Chief 8310.

During major catastrophes, neighboring departments in Nassau County can share staff and specialized equipment while still providing community coverage thanks to mutual aid agreements. Until operations were finished, firefighters collaborated with other agencies to support the situation. Effective interagency cooperation, firefighter preparedness, and the ongoing importance of regional mutual aid alliances were all evident in the response.
