Brooksville, FL - The Hernando County Fire Rescue responded to a vehicle fire along US 41 involving a towed vehicle that ignited after its tires locked up during transport.

The tow truck driver safely disconnected the vehicle and moved it to the roadside prior to the arrival of emergency crews. Engine 9 personnel quickly deployed a suppression line and extinguished the fire using approximately 500 gallons of water, preventing further spread and minimizing hazards in the area.

Firefighters operated along the roadway while managing the incident, and motorists experienced minor delays. The response highlighted the importance of driver awareness and adherence to move-over laws to ensure the safety of personnel working roadside.
