This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On July 11, the East Farmingdale Volunteer Fire Company responded to a suspected garbage fire.

Chief 1-5-32 was in charge of fireground operations, while Chief 1-5-31 took leadership upon arrival. The first-due equipment was Engine 1-5-1, which attacked the fire with two 1½-inch handlines. In order to stop the fire from spreading past the debris pile, firefighters swiftly put it under control.

Crews collaborated to safely and effectively contain the fire under the direction of 1st Assistant Chief Greco.
