On July 7, a completely engaged car fire was responded to by the East Farmingdale Volunteer Fire Company.

When Safety 1 arrived first, they verified that a Chevrolet van was completely engulfed in flames. With the prompt deployment of a handline, engines 1-5-1 and 1-5-7 managed to contain the fire. Firefighters had to exercise caution until PSEG secured the area when overhead power lines fell into the site during operations, posing an extra risk.

Captain Grosvalet of Station 3 oversaw the event, which received assistance from other department units.
