East Williston, N.Y. — June 22 — In response to a mutual aid assignment, the East Williston Fire Department (456 Sagamore Ave., East Williston, NY 11596) helped Albertson Fire Company with a working home fire in Roslyn Heights. Together with other departments, Engine 814 and Chiefs 8100, 8101, and 8102 assisted with fire suppression and incident operations.

In order to assist confine the fire, safeguard surrounding structures, and ensure firefighter safety throughout the response, crews worked under the incident command system. In order to increase operational effectiveness and sustain emergency coverage throughout Nassau County while crews worked at the location, mutual aid alliances made sure that additional personnel and equipment were available.
