East Rockaway, N.Y. — June 28 — Responding to a reported two-car collision involving an overturned vehicle on Carman Avenue was the East Rockaway Fire Department, located at 473 Atlantic Ave., East Rockaway, NY 11518. Before firefighters arrived, Assistant Chief R. Bristol arrived first and verified that the tenant had successfully self-extricated through a window.

The Nassau County Police Department collaborated with Ladder 403, Engine 405, Heavy Rescue 407, and Ambulance 408 to secure the scene. Firefighters eliminated road hazards, stabilized the vehicles, and managed two fluid spills. Ambulance 408 assessed the occupant before releasing them on the spot. There were no other recorded injuries.
