Atlantic Beach, N.Y. — June 29 — When staff watching VHF Channel 16 heard that two teens on a float were drifting close to the AB Bridge, Department Atlantic Beach Rescue, located at 1 Rescue Rd., Atlantic Beach, NY 11509-1247, reacted. Jet Ski 362 and Marine 3628 took off prior to the dispatch. While a nearby boater helped one of the teenagers and rescuers evacuated the other, Jet Ski 362 arrived at the scene first.

With rescue swimmers on standby, Marine 3628 created a safety zone. The operation was observed from above by a crew of drones. With the help of multiple regional maritime response partners, the teenagers were reunited with family on the Rockaway shoreline.
