Bay Shore Firefighters Assist at Islip Structure Fire

On July 17, a working structure fire on Nikita Drive in Islip prompted the Bay Shore Fire Department to provide mutual aid.
When personnel arrived to discover severe fire conditions, Ladder 3-1-7 and the department's chief officers helped the Islip Fire Department. After the main body of fire was contained, Bay Shore firefighters were tasked with overhauling operations and checking adjacent units for fire extension.
Within an hour of finishing their task, Bay Shore units were released by Islip Command and sent back into service.
