EMS crews helped extinguish a fire in Voorheesville on Monday, June 20, around 5:45 p.m.

Voorheesville Fire, Albany County Sheriff’s Ambulance and Medics were called to 8 South Main Street in Voorheesville for a report of a fire under a front porch.

Dispatchers stated EMS was to respond for a person with burns to their hand.

The call was around the corner from the EMS station, so crews were on scene very quickly.

First arriving EMS personnel, who also happen to be firefighters, assisted in extinguishing the fire.

The ambulance carries a halligan tool used by firefighters for forcible entry.

The EMS personnel knocked the fire down with a fire extinguisher and used the halligan tool to remove some pieces of the porch to extinguish the fire underneath.

The fire department arrived on the scene and pulled a handline and sprayed the area to make sure everything was fully extinguished.
