Botsford, CT - The Botsford Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire after a residence was struck by lightning, with homeowners reporting smoke on the second floor.

Upon arrival, crews found no visible fire from the exterior but confirmed smoke conditions inside the upper living area. Firefighters opened walls to investigate and located charring, with no active fire present.

The situation was contained to a limited area, allowing the home to remain habitable. The incident was investigated by the Newtown Fire Marshal, and the homeowners were able to safely return.
