Windsor, CT - South Windsor Fire Department responded to a reported bathroom fire in the 1300 block of Summer Hill Drive, where initial reports indicated a smoke condition inside a residential condo with potential extension into the attic area.

Car 42 arrived first on scene and confirmed light to moderate smoke conditions showing from the structure, with early indicators suggesting fire involvement near the ceiling area. Engine 6 secured a water supply from the nearest hydrant, laid in, and initiated an aggressive interior fire attack upon entry.

The incident, which occurred on 2 September in Hartford County, was quickly escalated as additional units were dispatched to support suppression, search, and ventilation operations, ensuring full coverage of the affected structure.

Crews located a small fire involving the bathroom ceiling exhaust fan area, with early extension beginning toward the attic space. Firefighters were able to rapidly contain and extinguish the fire before it could spread into void spaces or further compromise the structure.

Mutual aid was initially requested but was cancelled shortly after arrival as crews achieved quick knockdown and confirmed control of the incident. Primary and secondary searches were completed and returned negative.

The South Windsor Fire Marshal’s Office is continuing to investigate the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported to residents or firefighters, and damage to the unit was minimal.
