Shelton, CT — Shelton firefighters responded to a vehicle fire near the Big Y Supermarket after Companies 1 and 4 were dispatched at approximately 12:49 p.m.

Upon arrival, crews encountered a pickup truck heavily involved in fire. Firefighters stretched a handline and worked to extinguish the blaze while securing the surrounding area.

The driver was able to exit the vehicle before firefighters arrived and was not injured. Crews brought the fire under control, completed extinguishment operations and made sure the scene was safe before clearing the incident.
