HazMat Investigation Determines White Powder Non-Hazardous

Weston, CT - The Weston Volunteer Fire Department responded alongside the Weston Police Department to a reported hazardous materials incident at a residence on Old Mill Road involving an unknown white powder.


Hazardous materials technicians made entry into the building to conduct assessment and preliminary testing. Following the investigation, the substance was identified as residue from a discharged fire extinguisher and determined to pose no hazard.


Multiple units and personnel operated at the scene to ensure safety and complete the investigation before all units returned to service.
