Five-Alarm Fire in Tower Hill Brings Rescue and Displaces Residents
Lawrence, MA - The Lawrence Firefighters Union - Local 146 reported that companies responded to a rapidly escalating structure fire in the Tower Hill neighborhood, where a large multi-family residential building was found heavily involved.
During initial operations, firefighters rescued an occupant from a third-floor window using a ground ladder. Crews conducted primary searches while advancing hose lines, as fire extended to adjacent buildings and conditions worsened, leading to additional alarms.
An aggressive interior attack was initiated before deteriorating conditions and partial collapse forced an evacuation and transition to defensive operations with master streams. Crews later re-entered to complete suppression and overhaul.
The fire was brought under control following extensive operations. Numerous residents were displaced, and no serious injuries were reported.
