East Meredith, N.Y. — July 11 — A working structure fire at 166 Dog Hill Road in the Schenevus-Maryland Fire District prompted the East Meredith Fire Department, located at 6192 County Highway 10, to react on mutual assistance with a tanker. In the remote location, where a dependable water supply relied on tanker operations, crews transported several loads of water to bolster suppression efforts.
Firefighters moved to the Schenevus fire station to offer standby coverage while local units stayed committed after finishing the water shuttle duty. During rural structure fire occurrences, the reaction emphasized the value of regional cooperation, coordinated tanker operations, and mutual aid.
