Newport Fire Company Conducts Multi-Agency Water Rescue Drill

On July 12, members of Newport Fire Company No. 4 participated in a multi-agency water rescue exercise alongside firemen from the Barneveld Fire Department, Oriskany Fire Department, and a New York State Forest Ranger.
Crews had simultaneous training at two different locations, where they practiced communication, shore operations, water safety, and water rescue tactics. The practice improved cooperation and teamwork while enabling responders to collaborate in actual settings.
