At approximately 1641 hours on July 16, 2025, a box was transmitted to the Cherry Hill Fire Department for the report of a dwelling fire at 705 Crestbrook Avenue. It was a hot and humid summer day and the roads were full of rush hour vehicle traffic in Cherry Hill. CHFD Engine 1342 under the command of Capt. Paul Hartstein, laid a 4” supply line into the job and reported fire showing from division A. The crew immediately stretched a 1 3/4” hand line to attack the fire. Squad Co. 13 took the hydrant and supplied CHFD Engine 1342. CHFD Acting Battalion Chief Chris Passer arrived, assumed command, and confirmed a working fire box. The fire spread from the garage area to the interior of the dwelling and into the second floor. Additional hand lines were stretched and operated and searchers were conducted. CHFD Assistant Chief Tim McGeady and Assistant Chief Brett DeLuca responded and assumed command roles. Due to the heat and humidity, units from Evesham, Mt. Laurel, Voorhees, and Haddonfield fire departments were called to assist the CHFD with crew rotations for R & R. The fire was placed under control in about 30 minutes. Rehab 13 was on location with some very welcomed cool refreshments and towels. The fire is under investigation by the CHFD FMO.
