Well Involved Car on Route-3 in Weymouth

WEYMOUTH, MA (NORFOLK COUNTY) - Around 10:00 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, May 23, 2024, the Weymouth Fire Department responded to Route 8 Southbound near Route 18 for a reported car fire.
Engine 3 arrived via the Northbound lane to find a well-involved passenger vehicle. A line was stretched from the North Bound lanes to the South Bound lanes while traffic was stopped by the Massachusetts State Police.
The heavy fire was quickly knocked down with one hand line. A Braintree engine responded to the scene, but was delayed by heavy traffic conditions due to the car fire. They also deployed a hand line and assisted with wetting down. No injuries were reported.
