Newbrook Fire Responded to Head-On Crash in Townshend

Townshend, VT. — June 11 — A two-vehicle head-on collision on VT Route 30 in Townshend prompted the response of mutual aid organizations and Newbrook Fire & Rescue, 698 Route 30, Newfane. One car was on fire, and one person was trapped inside, according to firefighters. Crews treated two injured people, finished the extrication, and put out the car fire.
In order to transport patients to a regional trauma center, rescuers set up a landing zone at Onyon Field and requested an air medical helicopter. Throughout the event, law enforcement, firefighters, EMS workers, and the air crew coordinated actions to ensure scene safety and restore regular traffic flow along the roadway.
