Engine 1 Training Highlights Busy Day for Sheldon Fire Department

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On June 12, the Sheldon Fire Department continued to provide emergency response, training, and equipment upgrades.

In order to help the Franklin Fire Department put out a house fire, nine firefighters responded on mutual assistance. Additionally, members trained pump operators; during testing, Engine 1 was able to pump more than 1,500 gallons of water per minute.

In order to better store and deploy the department's hydraulic rescue equipment, firefighters also updated Engine 1's rescue tool compartments by installing dividers and a carousel system while attending the North Country Fire School in Alburgh.
