Franklin, MA - The Berlin Fire & EMS Department responded to a structure fire on Central Street, where crews found a barn heavily involved upon arrival. Due to the absence of hydrants and the volume of fire, a second alarm was requested for additional mutual aid.

Firefighters began an interior attack and located a fully involved RV camper with fire extending into the barn. A partial roof collapse prompted an immediate evacuation and transition to defensive operations.

With assistance from multiple mutual aid departments, the fire was brought under control. The barn and RV camper were declared total losses. The cause remains under investigation, with no indication of suspicious activity.
