Bernardston, MA - The Bernardston Fire Department responded on a mutual aid assignment to a structure fire on Wickett Pond Road in the town of Wendell, operating as the Rapid Intervention Team. Engine 2 was cleared from a prior incident in Leyden to respond, while Tanker 1 provided station coverage.

As operations progressed and interior crews were withdrawn, Bernardston personnel were reassigned to assist with roof ventilation, working alongside Northfield’s ladder company. Crews operated under challenging conditions, with personnel rotations implemented due to extreme heat.

Following completion of assigned tasks, Bernardston units were released by command and returned to service.
