Canton, GA - Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services responded to a residential structure fire in the Lake Arrowhead community, where access to the scene was complicated by a tree blocking the roadway and downed power lines, requiring crews to take an alternate route.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a heavily involved structure and quickly located an adult male inside the basement. The occupant was safely removed as crews initiated fire attack and worked to bring the incident under control.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
