Mutual Aid Crews Assisted at Granby Road Incident

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

South Hadley, MA. — June 13 — Following complaints of smoke inside a building, firefighters from South Hadley Fire District 1 responded to a box alarm at 502A Granby Road. When the first crews arrived, they saw a lot of smoke but no fire. Although smoke and heat damage spread throughout the building, a broken pipe had assisted in putting out the fire before firefighters arrived.

Two cats were saved by firefighters after a lengthy search, and a third cat was eventually found. Each of the three pets was returned to their household in good health. The Massachusetts Department of Fire Services helped with the inquiry into the incident's cause, while South Hadley Fire District 2 offered mutual aid.
