Wilbraham, MA. — June 20 — The Wilbraham Fire Department's Engine 3, Engine 2, and Medic 3 responded to a suspected smoke investigation close to Weston Street. A Wilbraham police officer discovered a home fire on neighboring Enfield Street in Springfield while conducting a search. Before more resources could arrive, Wilbraham workers launched an initial fire attack, prompting the Springfield Fire Department to be alerted. One passenger had non-life-threatening injuries when they were transferred.
The Wilbraham Fire Department, Wilbraham Police Department, Wilbraham Regional Emergency Communications Center, and Springfield firemen showed excellent coordination during the response, which made it possible for crews to identify the fire, start suppression efforts, and treat patients almost away.
