Car Slams Into Pole Making Huge Mess of Wires

Mastic Beach N.Y.- On Tuesday June 29th just before Midnight the Mastic BeachFire Department -as dispatched to a report of a vehicle crash on Robinwood Dr Off Halewood drive. Assistant Chief Jeff McGown { 5-13-31} advised Fire-Com he was the first responding unit and Fire-Com gave him details that he was responding to a vehicle VS pole. The Mastic Beach Ambulance Company was also activated and responded under the command of 2nd Assistant Chief TJ Falah.

Assistant Chief McGown Arrived on scene and confirmed he had a vehicle vs pole with primary wires down in the roadway and on a fence of a residence. The drive of the vehicle was not trapped she was out of the vehicle at the scene and talked to police and EMS while firefighters secured the car and put down speedy dry. PSEG was requested on a rush however was unable to provide an ETA to FD. The driver of the vehicle did go to a local hospital transported by Mastic Beach Ambulance to be checked out. The scene was turned over to SCPD who kept the road closed for an extended period of time until PSEG arrived and secured to live wires and made the needed repairs.
