Fast Evacuation and Closed Door Limit Structure Fire Damage

Orange, MA - Orange Fire Rescue EMS responded to a structure fire on Oaklawn Avenue with reports of flames showing from a second-floor window of an occupied home.
Crews quickly located and knocked down fire in a bedroom, preventing further extension. Damage was largely confined to the room of origin, with smoke affecting the rest of the residence.
All occupants safely evacuated prior to arrival, though one person was transported with minor injuries. Firefighters also rescued one of two missing cats and reunited it with the family. The home has been deemed uninhabitable, and the Red Cross is assisting
