Strong T Storms Wreak Havoc in Bristol County

Fall River, Ma. On Thursday July 3rd around 7:00 pm a line of strong thunderstorms moved through Fall River and caused significant damage. Windows were blown out and roofs were ripped off along with numerous trees and power poles flattened by powerful wind gusts up to 60 mph. Heavy rain made many streets impassable and left many motorists stranded in flooded streets. Several buildings were reported to have partial collapses. The Chief of the Fall River Emergency Management Agency declared a state of emergency for the entire city. The Police, Fire and DPW Departments called in off duty personnel to assist.
