Port Vue, PA. — June 17 — At a multi-alarm commercial structure fire in Glassport, Vigilant Hose Company #1 of Port Vue, Station 237, at 1800 Romine Ave., stayed on the scene alongside nearby agencies. While personnel worked for several hours to handle the situation, firefighters resumed their suppression and overhaul operations.

While local resources were dedicated to the fire, Munhall Central Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company maintained emergency protection in Port Vue by offering standby coverage. Due to ongoing emergency activities, officials also warned drivers to stay away from the neighborhoods of Wall Street and Ohio Avenue and 9th Street and Monongahela Avenue. During prolonged commercial fire events, the reaction proved the importance of mutual aid.
