Binghamton Fire Department personnel arrived at Port Crane on June 4th to help rescue a person who had fallen about twenty-five feet into a creek.

According to officials, the person was thought to have fallen the night before and spent several hours in the creek before being found. Binghamton's technical rescue squad was called in to help with the operation because of the difficult terrain. Before transferring the patient to EMS for transportation to a nearby hospital, firefighters packed the patient, administered emergency medical care, and securely lifted the person from the creek bed using rope rescue tactics.
