Binghamton, N.Y. — June 18 — On a mutual aid assignment, the Prospect Terrace Fire Department, located at 2 Girard Ave., helped the Choconut Center Volunteer Fire Department with a structure fire. In order to assist with suppression efforts and help contain the situation, firefighters collaborated with nearby agencies.

Before being allowed to leave the area, crews also helped with overhaul and other tasks. Due to the difficult weather circumstances during the reaction, several agencies had to work together. Throughout the situation, additional troops and equipment were provided by mutual help resources. During emergency reactions, the operation demonstrated the value of regional cooperation and the ongoing collaboration between nearby fire departments.
