On June 20, fire crews were called to action for a major commercial structure fire at Rosebud Mining in South Buffalo Township. The call came in fast—and so did the flames.

Thick smoke could be seen for miles as firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy fire showing from the large industrial building. With intense heat, challenging access points, and the sheer size of the facility, crews knew they were in for a tough fight.

Multiple departments worked together in a coordinated response, setting up master streams and stretching lines to contain the blaze and protect surrounding areas. Water supply operations were critical, and mutual aid companies stepped in to support the effort.

Crews spent several hours on scene bringing the fire under control, rotating out to manage heat and fatigue. Thanks to the quick actions and teamwork of all involved, the situation was brought under control without major injuries.

This incident is a strong reminder of the risks our firefighters face—and the power of inter-agency cooperation when it matters most.
