On the afternoon of June 9th, Allamuchy Fire Department responded to a mutual aid request from the Budd Lake Fire Department for a reported structure fire at the Residence Inn.

Engine 91-61 hit the road quickly with a crew of five. As initial Budd Lake crews arrived on scene, they were met with heavy smoke and active fire on the third floor of the hotel, prompting a third-alarm assignment to bring in additional resources.

Allamuchy crews were assigned to perform a primary search on the fourth floor. Upon reaching the upper level, firefighters were met with a thick smoke condition throughout the floor. Working methodically and swiftly, crews conducted a full search of all rooms, confirming that there were no occupants and no fire extension to the fourth floor.

With the search complete, Allamuchy personnel shifted gears to assist with ventilation and fire suppression operations, working side-by-side with Budd Lake and other mutual aid departments to bring the situation under control.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
