At approximately 0400 hours on August 9, 2025, the Riverside Fire Company and mutual aid departments were dispatched to 515 Greenwood Avenue for the report of a dwelling fire. Riverside Chief 7000, Simon Santos, and Delran Deputy Chief 2301, were among the first to arrive and reported a large volume of fire showing from the rear of the two story single family dwelling with extention to the attic space. As crews arrived, three handlines were quickly deployed to knock the fire. Ladder companies went to the roof and performed roof ventilation. The second alarm was transmitted to bring in additional personnel to assist with fireground duties and extensive overhaul. Three occupants of the house reportedly self evacuated and were transported to the hospital for reported fire related injuries with one being transported to the local trauma center. The fire was declared under control within an hour. The fire is under investigation by the local and county fire marshal’s offices.
