Endicott, N.Y. — June 22 — Together with nearby agencies, the Endicott Fire Department, located at 224 Madison Ave., responded to a significant fire at the Knights Inn in Endwell. During the multi-agency reaction, firefighters helped with scene stabilization, search operations, and suppression. Six fatalities were subsequently confirmed by authorities, and the disaster resulted in the displacement of other residents.

The response and recovery activities were also assisted by the American Red Cross, the Broome County Office of Emergency Services, the New York State Police, and the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control. While fire officials and detectives proceeded to examine the area and record evidence, the cause was still being investigated.
