Car vs Concession Stand

June 11, 2020-Endicott, NY- Endicott Fire Department Platoon 4 was dispatched to a car vs. building motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, crews found that the driver went through the intersection from Bermond Ave. across Watson Blvd., through a guard rail and chain link fence and into the corner of the concession stand. The driver was evaluated by Union Volunteer Emergency Squad, while Fire and Code Enforcement evaluated the building and removed the fencing so the car could be removed by After Hours Tires. Endicott Public Works personnel were first on scene as they were working at the nearby Z Pool. Fire crews shut off power to the building and emergency shored the building until public works could get more supplies to shore it completely and secure it. EFD was assisted on scene by Endicott Police Department, The Village engineer and Endicott Water Dept. Endicott Municipal Light and NYSEG were called to check the utilities. The Village is having the building evaluated by an engineering firm to develop a repair plan.
