June 25 2020-Kirkwood NY. Five Mile Point Fire responded to assist Kirkwood Fire for a car vs house motor vehicle accident Thursday afternoon. Patrols arrived first to find the vehicle into the house but no driver. Witnesses stated the driver left the scene. Crews, directed by Kirkwood Fire Captain Garrison, checked the vehicle for other occupants and secured the vehicle battery. Most of the damage was to the front porch with impact into the foundation of the house. Crews stabilized the damaged area in the cellar with shoring until the homeowner could get a more permanent fix. Crews from Great Bend assisted on the scene and with traffic control.
Also on scene were the Broome County Sheriff's Office, NYSP and Superior Ambulance. The driver was located and refused medical treatment.
